Microsoft has announced that it will release the Mac version of its Office 2011 productivity suite in October.
The company said that the software will be available in two versions - Office for Mac Home and Student 2011, priced at £89.99 or £109.99 for three installs, and Office for Mac Home and Business 2011, priced at £189.99 or £239.99 for two installs.
Microsoft has also announced that people who buy Office 2008 for Mac from today will be eligible for a free upgrade to Office 2011 at its launch.
Speaking to Tech Radar, Neil Thompson, general manager entertainment & devices for Microsoft UK, said: “We develop Office for Mac to give you the tools to create great looking and compatible documents – with options to pick the right edition for your Mac needs.”

Office 2011 for Mac is set to offer increased compatibility across platforms and improved collaboration tools, as well as Outlook and a new Ribbon feature that provides quick and easy access to commonly used tools.
