LG will launch a new range of Cookie smartphones in the UK in September but unless LG offers the new handsets at an extremely competitive price or come up with some pretty convincing features, it is likely to face competition from the old Cookie itself.
The problem is that many mobile phone retailers are clearing out the current LG Cookie, a very popular handset and one which has introduced the potential of touchscreen to thousands of users.
The Cookie's specifications are pretty impressive even by today's standards. It has a 3.2-inch camera, a 3-inch resistive touchscreen with auto rotate with a proprietary mobile OS.
As for the price, well, you can get the phone with 100 minutes, 500 texts from as little as £10 on Vodafone or with unlimited texts and 50 minutes for £10 from O2.
The phone is also extremely competitive on Pay as you go; the Cookie can be purchased for as little as £50 on PAYG, which makes it a tough Cookie to crack (pardon the pun).
