The new Sony PS3 gaming consoles, which sport 160GB and 320GB hard disk drives, could land in the UK as early as October, four months after being released in Japan.
According to Playmag whose been tipped by a "reliable source in the UK", the two consoles will be released in the country weeks after the release of the Move motion controller.
The new console, which is available in a classic white colour, will face the new Xbox 360 Slim launched a few weeks ago by Microsoft. Sony has resisted cutting down the price of the PS3 Slim until now and we shall see whether this status quo remains as we approach Christmas.
Upgrading the hard disk drive of a PS3 gaming console is child's play (pun intended) with the Phat version being upgrade-friendly since day one.
With 1TB 2.5-inch hard drives already available for under £100, it does make sense to swap drives, a task that takes a little more than five minutes.
