Microsoft has announced plans to open a new studio dedicated to developing mobile games and applications for its upcoming Windows Phone 7 platform.
The company has posted a job listing on its website, advertising for game developers to help produce games specially designed for Windows Phone 7.
Microsoft is relying on the success of its Xbox 360 games console to make the OS attractive to consumers. The company has said that Windows Phone 7 users will be able to sync their smartphones with the Xbox gaming console.
The job posting reads: “Our vision is to deliver games and entertainment so good that people will want them always with them, on a service that makes them social, connected and relevant anywhere their life goes.”
The MGS Mobile Gaming studio will be focused towards developing fun and interactive mobile games and applications for the platform.
Another reason Microsoft has taken to develop Windows Phone 7 on its own is to guarantee games and applications for the platform, even if third party developers don't show much interest in it.
