Business management software vendor CA Technologies has announced acquisition of cloud and virtualisation service provider 4Base Technology.
The company has not disclosed the financial details of the deal, which is set to allow it forge ahead into the lucrative cloud computing market.
4Base describes it self as a technology consultancy firm, which offers companies advise on shifting from the traditional form of computing to the cloud.
The company says that, by shifting to the cloud, enteprise customers can make use of software as a service product over the internet and use virtualisation, that allows users to run more computer machines on their existing server infrastructure.
Announcing the acquisition, Jay Fry, the vice president for business unit strategy at CA, wrote on a blog post that “As strongly as folks want to believe that everything can be solved with a mouse click, the rise of boutique consulting firms focused on cloud and virtualisation tells you that there's a need here. And it's something that CA Technologies decided to address head-on.”
