The HTC Desire HD has appeared briefly on Amazon UK under the moniker HTC 99HLZ001-00 ACE/Desire HD before being pulled down fairly quickly.
The listing, which has since been removed, was discovered by Electricpig and shows that the phone carries a price of £415 which would make it just a few pounds more expensive than the current HTC Desire handset.
There's a few things that we can infer from this mysterious apparition. HTC is likely to keep the Desire brand in Europe, we expect the HD version of the Desire to replace the plain vanilla version outright & the fact that Amazon has already listed it means that the phone will go on sale on the 15th of September.
The phone is rumoured to one with a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 1GHz Qualcomm processor, an 8-megapixel camera with HD recording capabilities, SRS surround sound, 4GB worth of storage and Android OS 2.2.
