Sainsbury's has entered the mobile e-commerce market with the launch of two new iPhone applications.
According to the company, the Sainsbury's application is free to download and will come with a store locator, latest news, updates about personalised offers and a comprehensive, personalised list of all deals available in the store.
Sainsbury's said that the Nectar application will allow Sainsbury's and Homebase customers to gain access to more offers, bringing themselves more loyalty points.
Nectar is Sainsbury's loyalty scheme, designed to give registered customers access to exclusive offers and bonus loyalty points.
In a statement to Computer Weekly, Mike Coupe, Sainsbury's group commercial director, said in a statement: “With our app you will be able to quickly find your nearest Sainsbury's and receive exclusive, personalised bonus points offers on the go. Through our partnership with Nectar, our customers will never miss out on deals and be able to reward themselves.”
Both applications are now available to download directly from the iTunes App Store.
