Lineage II Addict Sues NCSoft Over Inability To Function

An American gamer is to sue Korean game maker NCSoft after becoming addvited to playing Lineage II.

Hawaii-based gamer Craig Smallwood has been permitted to continue filing a lawsuit against NC Soft by a US federal judge.

The game addict claims that the company's Lineage II game was so addictive, that playing it caused him to not leave enough time for his daily activities, such as waking up, dressing, bathing or talking to friends and family.

Smallwood claims to have played NC Soft’s Lineage II for 20,000 odd hours between the years 2004 and 2009.

In his lawsuit, Smallwood has alleged that the game developing company “acted negligently in failing to warn or instruct or adequately warn or instruct plaintiff and other players of Lineage II of its dangerous and defective characteristics, and of the safe and proper method of using the game.”

Alan Kay, the US District Court judge has paved way for the negligence lawsuit, in which Smallwood has claimed an undisclosed amount of damages in compensation for the 20,000 hours he wasted while playing Lineage II.
