Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days has knocked Toy Story 3 from the top of the game charts for all platforms in its first week.
The UK all-format gaming chart, by the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA), shows that Square Enix's Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days has replaced Toy Story 3 at the top of the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC game charts.
The game revolves around two psychotic trigger-happy criminals who retire to Shanghai in pursuit of a quiter life that fails to happen as the last assignment of their bloody careers goes horribly wrong, resulting in them upsetting the local crime lords.
Game developer Square Enix had earlier predicted that the game will reach the top of the charts following a massive marketing campaign undertaken by the company.
The game, which received mixed reviews from critics, contains extremely graphical and brutul content with larger than life violence scenes.
