Viewsonic is expected to showcase an Android-based tablet computer at the upcoming IFA event in Berlin, Germany.
The California-based company is getting ready to display two of its new tablet devices at the IFA, world largest exhibition of consumer electronics set to take place between 3-8 September in Berlin, tech news site Softpedia has reported.
The first tablet device is the Android-based 7 inch Viewpad. It is expected to come with 3G capabilities, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, dual cameras, as well as GPS, USB and MicroSD slots.
The second device, which is still unnamed, is a 10inch tablet computer that runs on dual boot capabilities of Android and Windows.
“The ViewPad 7, a 7" Android tablet with 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, access to thousands of applications and front and back-facing cameras will be previewed for the first time in Europe,” said Viewsonic.
The ViewPad will be released into direct competition with Apple's iPad, the current most dominant product in the tablet PC market.
