Microsoft confirmed to CVG that it will bring a new wireless controller for the Xbox 360 by the beginning of 2011 in the UK.
A spokesperson for the company told CVG that the new gaming peripheral would come with a Play and Charge Kit and a transforming D-pad.
This will apparently allow gamers to "rotate the D-pad by ninety degrees and raise it up by around 6mm" according to another source in the know.
Informationweek also has more details as to how the transformation will take place; "When users twist the d-pad, it pops up into a raised plus sign".
Expect the new controller to go on sale for around $64.99, roughly £45. The control pad will be available in the US from the 9th of November.
The launch of the new Xbox 360 gaming pad coincides with an announced increase in the Xbox Live online subscription which will rise from $49.99 to $59.99 for the 12-month Gold membership in November.
