Cisco has partnered with Citrix Systems to offer desktop virtualisation solutions to enterprise customers.
According to the company, the new Cisco Desktop Virtualisation Solution will be offered alongside Citrix XenDesktop, and will combine Cisco unified computing solutions with Citrix's FlexCast and HDX virtualisation technology.
“By combining our innovations in unified computing with industry-leading desktop virtualisation, from Citrix, we are delivering an integrated solution that drives down the cost and complexity of virtual desktop environments, while improving security and operational control,” Prem Jain, the senior vice president of virtualisation at Cisco said in a statement.
The companies claim that their desktop virtualisation solution is not only cost-effective, but will also provide more scalable and high performance options to enterprise users by deploying high definition virtual machines and applications across the organisation.
Cisco and Citrix added that the new virtualisation product will be supported by both their teams and reduce data centre architecture cost by 20 per cent per user.
