Finnish fone maker's Nokia has just opened up pre-ordering for their flagship Nokia N8 handset, with a SIM free and unlocked cost of £429.
The Nokia online store now allows for the reservation and payment of the upcoming touch screen mobile phone, along with ordering on contract from £35 a month with Vodafone, O2 and T-Mobile - shipping at the end of September.
Nokia N8 has a 3.5-inch AMOLED screen and is accompanied by a 12 megapixel camera, with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and is capable of 720p HD video recording plus editing along with Dolby Digital Plus surround sound.
The phone also has an HDMI port, albeit in the form of a micro HDMI socket for displaying HD video content on to a compatible TV screen. Nokia's N8 will be the first handset running from the newest OS of theirs, Symbian ^3.
One Mobile Ring expected this news would have opened the Nokia annual symposium next week in London. The announcement today seems an unusual move by the Finnish, where holding back for the event would have given it more importance and gravitas - unless, something bigger is being unveiled at Nokia World 2010.
