Acer's Liquid Metal smartphone is expected to be launched towards the end of October if the latest rumours are to be believed.
An Acer spokesperson told Electricpig that the company will be selling the handset, Acer's new flagship smartphone, within the next six weeks.
The Android Liquid Metal should according to a number of sources, run on a 800MHz ARM-based Qualcomm processor, come with a 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen with Dolby Mobile, a camera with flash, 512MB RAM, Bluetooth 3.0 and Android OS 2.2.
Unfortunately, the Liquid Metal will use a proprietary user interface called the Acer Shell 4.0 but will come with an aluminium body and should be available in two colours, brushed silver and champagne brown.
No pricing details have been divulged yet and it will be interesting to see what mobile phone operators offer the device on contract.
