Taiwanese manufacturer Acer is apparently set to launch a dual screen laptop with a 2.67GHz Intel Core i5-580M processor fairly soon.
Techreview Source reports that the device will run on Windows 7 and has two 15-inch interchangeable touchscreens, one of which can be used for the display and the other as a keyboard/trackpad.
Sources say that the device is still at an early stage of development and therefore suffers from bugs and other ailments. It should come out nearly one year from now, around fall 2011.
The laptop dwarfs attempts by others like the Toshiba Folio to popularise the format. No details as to the other features especially pricing and the responsiveness of the system.
We're slightly dubious about the utility of a dual screen laptop especially as it will have a negative impact on the battery life and is likely to be significantly more expensive.
