UK mobile services provider T-Mobile is set to release the Android 2.2 Froyo software update for the HTC Desire.
The HTC Desire, which was initially shipped with Android 2.1, is one of the most popular Android smartphones in the market.
The new Android update will bring HD video recording and increased performance speeds to the smartphone.
In a reply to one of its customers on Twitter, the wireless carrier informed that it was on the verge of releasing the Desire software update, and was currently waiting for the final approval before its launch.
According to EuroDroid, the company has sent the final version of the software update to Google, and would soon be offering it over-the-air and as a manual download later this month.
T-Mobile joins the list of other UK mobile services providers pushing out the Android 2.2 update to their Desire users.
Vodafone has already rolled out the update while Orange is gearing up for its own release.
