Location Based service Foursquare has launched an application for Nokia's OVI store at today's Nokia World event; the announcement came one day after Angry Birds did the same.
Although the interface of the app for Nokia's mobile environment will be different, its core functionality will be similar to that of the iPhone and Android app.
Users will be able to link up with friends via Facebook and other social networks, display and automatically update their locations and discover new ones.
In addition, the app offers the possibility to check out badges that can be collected, localised tips can be left as well as deals that can be found around a particular area;.
The Foursquare app wil be available on Symbian^3 and S60 5th edition and S60 3.2 (or above) handsets as from next week.
It is not known whether Nokia will bundle the App with its forthcoming smartphones as it is the case for Facebook and Twitter.
