The HTC Desire HD is now available for pre-order from MobilePhonesDirect on T-Mobile for a mere £30 per month with an expected dispatch date of the 6th of October and a 24-month contract.
Vodafone, T-Mobile and O2 are the three mobile phone networks that have confirmed that they will be stocking the device.
The T-Mobile offer however seems to trump deals from rival networks and it comes with 900 minutes, 500 texts and 1GB unlimited mobile web included.
Shorter contracts are also available; £35 per month buys you 600 minutes unlimited text and unlimited mobile web with the phone costing a one-off £19 or a TCO of £559. In comparison, the HTC Desire can be had for £20 per month on an 18 month contract but with a worse package.
Interestingly, the price of the the HTC Desire HD on contract is the same as the HTC Desire Z while the latter is more expensive on SIM-Free compared to the former.
The HTC Desire HD is a straight upgrade to the HTC Desire. It is slightly heavier but compensates the increase in weight with a larger amount of memory (RAM & ROM), a bigger screen, a camera with a higher pixel count and a faster processor.
In addition, it supports DLNA and Dolby Mobile and SRS surround sound. The SIM Free version of the HTC Desire HD is currently on preorder at Amazon for £470.
