The price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet is slowly but surely coming down and there's there's a few sellers that have brought the price down to less than £590, a £20 saving on the price just two weeks ago.
We got a confirmation from Insight Direct (UK) that they are expecting to get 500 on the 22nd of October and one spokesperson assured us that they will be shipping preorders on that day, a full 10 days before Amazon and other retailers.
What's more, Insight will be selling the item - known as the GT-P1000MSAXEU - for £587.49, again undercutting Amazon and others by £12.50; when asked whether prices will fall further, our Insight Direct contact said that the prices were "at despatch" meaning that they are unlikely to change.
Customers will be able to lease the product from as little as £17.94 per month directly from Insight Direct or preorder them; note that the price does not include the P&P at £4.99.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab is probably the most expensive 16GB mainstream tablet device around; the equivalent Apple iPad model is around £70 cheaper. The Tab comes with Android OS 2.2, a 7-inch WSVGA display, 3G, Wi-Fi, a 3-megapixel camera, a 1GHz processor and 512MB RAM.
