Apple has began to offer its iPad tablet device to resellers across the United States as a part of its planned marketing and expansion strategies.
The Cupertino-based consumer electronics giant is rumoured to have allowed its distributors to offer the entire range of iPads to resellers across the country as a first step to expand availability of the gadget, tech news site Touch Reviews reports.
According to a report published by Apple Insider, Apple has allowed Tech Data Corporation, one of its largest distributor in the US to sell the iPads to third parties.
There is no official announcement from Apple’s side as yet.
“The step is significant because Apple has been very protective of the iPad's image -- and third-party availability -- since the device's launch in April,” read the website.
Reports suggest that retail showroom line, including Best Buy and Target, may soon begin to sell the iPad in their stores ahead of the festive season.
