Microsoft has released its BizTalk Server 2010 to manufacturers, which will be available to customers from 1 October.
According to Microsoft, the servers will come with enhanced support for Windows Server AppFabric to provide support from application development.
The BizTalk Server 2010 will also support other flagship Microsoft platforms including Windows Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008 R2, .NET Framework 4 and Visual Studio 2010.
The server is designed to allow clients to maximise their existing investments by integrating BizTalk Server 2010 with Windows Server AppFabric and SharePoint Server 2010 and enhance the performance of large mission-critical deployments. It will also allow them to reduce total ownership costs.
The main functionality being touted by Microsoft is the server's ability to maximise the value of existing Line of Business (LOB) systems by automating the business process.
Steven Smith, the CEO of GCommerce, said in a statement: “GCommerce has bet our mission-critical value-chain functionality on BizTalk Sever 2010 which we use to automate the secure and reliable exchange of information with our trading partners.”
