Facebook Gives $100m To Newark Public School

Mark Zuckerberg announced a $100 million donation for the public schooling system to the government of Newark, one of the largest cities of New Jersey.

The founder and chief executive officer of Facebook attended the Oprah Winfrey show in town with the mayor of Newark Cory Booker and Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie to make the official announcement about his $100 million education foundation.

"I feel very fortunate for the opportunities I've been given because of my education, including the chance to work with talented people and build a great company at such a young age," Zuckerberg wrote in a post on the official blog of the social networking platform, Facebook.

The Harvard dropout who has been listed among the richest businessmen in the Forbes Richest American annual list has joined the league of business tycoons like Bill Gates who have dedicated a large portion of their fortune to charity and betterment of the society.
