Apple is the subject for the greatest number of tech articles published, a new study has found.
The study was conducted by the Pew Research Center as a part of its Project for Excellence in Journalism, which reported that 15.1 per cent of tech articles were about Apple, while search engine giant Google accounted for 11.4 per cent of the articles.
Pew also found that micro-blogging platform Twitter accounted for 7.1 per cent of the articles, while social networking giant Facebook and Microsoft accounted for 4.8 per cent and 3 per cent of the tech articles respectively.
According to The New York Times, the reason that Apple features in the most number of tech articles is that it has a "very public way of releasing products".
Software giant Microsoft, whose Windows software runs on the majority of computers worldwide, was far behind Apple when it came to media coverage.
The study involved Pew analysing the media coverage in 52 broadcasts, newspapers and websites.
