Sony Ericsson has further delayed the schedule Android 2.1 operating system update the on its range of X10 smartphones until late October.
According to tech news site Tech Radar Sony Ericsson has announced a new schedule for its Android 2.1 update to its line of Xperia smartphones which include an X10 , X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro.
The first Android 2.1 update, codenamed Eclair for X10 was earlier scheduled for third quarter of 2010, however, the company has delayed it until late October. The phones will receive updates at different times depending upon their configuration.
"We are of course not happy about the change of launch timing but we have had to spend some additional time on the software to really make sure we roll-out with the right quality and user experience," wrote Rikard Skogberg, of Sony Ericsson, in a company blog post.
The post also announced that Xperia X10 will also receive several other updates along with an OS upgrade such as high definition video recording.
