Twitter is on the verge of launching a new 'Promoted Accounts' advertising suite that would allow brands and corporations to increase their following on the platform.
Citing people familiar with the matter, tech news site All Things Digital's Frank Kafka says that the company will unveil the new advertising product during an ad industry conference in New York.
Twitter will use its 'Who to Follow' suggestions features in order to pitch brands and corporations to Twitter users.
The service will be based on the same algorithm used by the 'Who to follow' feature, serving only relevant brands to users.
Twitter's other two products, Promoted Tweets and Promoted Trends are still on the early stages and are being well received by advertisers.
The micro blogging platform declined to comment in detail, but said: “All the components of these two buckets of product have yet to be determined. Some are currently being tested publicly now. Some will be tested soon. Some are just ideas that we are broaching externally for feedback.”
