Nokia has announced that its highly awaited N8 smartphone has started shipping to customers who had pre-ordered the device.
The company also said that the entertainment device will be gradually made available across the globe based on country and mobile operator.
The N8, which comes with Ovi support, is designed as powerful entertainment device complete with multi-tasking, a 12 MP camera, in-phone creation and editing tools and a 3.5 inch AMOLED screen.
The smartphone, which is the based on the newest Symbian operating system, will come with pre-loaded WebTV apps by E! Entertainment, National Geographic and CNN.
The N8 will also feature the latest version of Nokia's flagship Ovi app store and enhanced mapping features that contains the details of 70 countries worldwide.
“The Nokia N8 has received the highest amount of consumer pre-orders in Nokia history and we are thrilled to start shipments of the N8, the first of Nokia's new Symbian smartphone range,” said Jo Harlow, the senior vice president of Nokia's smartphone division.
