New statistics have revealed that Facebook has surpassed Yahoo to become the second most visited site in the Online Video Content Ranking.
According to new data released by market research and analytics company comScore, nearly 58.6 million web users in the United States used Facebook to view online videos in August, surpassing Yahoo, which ranked number three with 53.9 million viewers.
comScore also reported that more than 178 million Americans used the web to watch online video content, each spending 14.3 hours on an average per month, PR Newswire reports.
The ranking chart was dominated by Google’s You Tube with 146 million viewers in the country.
“Facebook.com jumped one position to capture the #2 spot with 58.6 million viewers, for a total of 243 million viewing sessions. Yahoo! Sites ranked third with 53.9 million viewers, followed by VEVO with 45.4 million,” the report read.
