Google has released an upgraded version of its Car Home application for download from the Android Marketplace.
The internet search giant has upgraded its application Car Home for owners of Android 2.2-based smartphones globally, tech news site Android Police reports.
According to the reports, Google has customised the user interface of the application along with providing users with the capability to access major software programmes using one touch gesture. The programmes include GPS navigation system of the application, contacts and voice commands.
"Now you can [easily] customise the shortcuts to personalise Car Home with [quick] access to apps and information on your phone. Simply select one of the icons marked 'add shortcut' to start creating your own shortcuts,” said Markus Muhlbauer, manager of engineering and product division at Google Automotive.
The app can be activated either manually or by putting the smartphone in to a vehicle dock port, as the app can be initialised with one touch as soon as the phone is paired with a Bluetooth connection.
The application is available for only two handsets, the Nexus One and Motorola Droid.
