Cisco has upgraded its Borderless Networks architecture by adding a new range of switches, routers, and access point hardware.
Some of the new additions to the Borderless Networks include the Cisco Catalyst switch, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance firewall and compact Cisco ASR 1000 Series router, along with 802.11n wireless access points targeted at small organisations.
The company also released the Application Velocity Network Service, which will allow users to physically and virtually enhance the performance of applications.
Brett Galloway, the senior vice president of Cisco's wireless, security and routing technology division, said in a statement: “This third expansion of the Borderless Networks portfolio is designed to help customers reach new levels of innovation and participation by engaging their customers and employees to create entirely new ways of doing business.”
The new additions to the Borderless Networks also include a revamped Cisco AnyConnect which brings enhanced end-user capabilities and Cisco EnergyWise, capable of saving operational costs by enhancing its energy saving functionality.
