HP has expanded its Converged Infrastructure offerings by adding the new HP ProLiant SL6500 Scalable System and Performance Optimised Datacenter (POD).
According to an HP press release, the ProLiant SL6500 has been designed to offer a common platform for hosting, web serving, cloud-computing and outsourcing applications.
The POD, on the other hand, has been designed as a container-based IT set-up, set to allow service providers to enhance an existing data centre for application access.
HP's head of enterprise servers, storage and networking division, Dave Donatelli, said in a statement: “HP Converged Infrastructure delivers significant advantages in deployment speed, performance, reliability and management of applications that provide organisations quantifiable results over traditional environments.”
The company has also released the HP Branch Office Networking Solution, a combination of hardware and software tools, designed to address the IT requirements at the branch office of an organisation.
The solution is capable of integrating several essential IT technologies, like LAN, WAN, wireless, unified communications, VoIP and security in a single, remotely manageable platform.
