HTCSense.com, HTC's answer to Apple's MobileMe, has gone live for HTC Android-based smartphone users across the globe.
The company has opened the service for registration to HTC users, who will be able to remotely manage their smartphones running the latest version of HTC Sense UI.
One of the most sought after features offered by the new platform is the find my phone function, which allows users to locate their lost or misplaced smartphone.
Users will be able to make the phone ring at a high volume, even if the device is set to silent mode, locate the phone on a map, send a retrieval message or lock the smartphone and remotely erase all sensitive data stored on the device.
HTCSense.com users will be able to make back-ups of their SMSs as well. This function will allow them to store all SMS conversations, send and receive text messages on the desktop and transfer the SMS history to a new device.
The new platform, which is designed to work with HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z devices, will also allow users to sync their contact lists and address book.
