Microsoft has unveiled the Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 smartphone at a launch event in New York on Monday.
The phone, which runs on the new Windows Phone 7 operating system, comes with a slide-out keyboard and is specifically targeted at business users.
According to Dell, the smartphone will be offered by mobile services provider T-Mobile and will be available just ahead of the holiday season.
The phone will come with a 4.1 inch WVGA AMOLED capacitive, multi-touch display and a well laid-out QWERTY keyboard. Venue Pro is also packed with special T-Mobile applications such as T-Mobile TV, Netflix, Slacker, Telenav navigation, and Family Room.
However, the new Windows Phone 7 smartphone will not be sold from T-Mobile stores but directly from the Dell website and through Dell and T-Mobile enterprise sales.
Bill Gorden, the general manager for smartphone in Dell’s Communication Solutions Group, wrote on a blog post: “We see the Venue Pro for everyday people with a diverse range of full and busy lives. They need to stay connected, be productive and keep in touch with colleagues, friends and family.”
