Samsung has announced the Wave II smartphone following the launch of its Omnia 7 Windows Phone 7-based device.
The new smartphone will run on Samsung's own Bada operating system and will feature the TouchWiz UI, similar to the original Wave device.
Wave II will have a , 3.7 inch screen, larger than its predecessor, which had a 3.3 inch AMOLED display.
It will also come with 1GHz processor and a 5 MP camera which is capable of recording high definition videos. Wave II is slated to be launched in the UK by the end of 2010.
The network carriers set to sell the device have yet to be announced.
JK Shin, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung, said in a statement: “Our customers told us that they would like to have a bigger display and a better input method so we fulfilled their needs. They said they like advanced features so we built more into the device. The Samsung Wave II has really shown Samsung’s innovative capabilities.”
