Microsoft's newly launched line of Windows Phone 7 based smartphones has been well received by critics and fans alike.
The company also managed to garner the support of British polymath and national treasure Stephen Fry, who, although normally a vocal Apple fan, was present at the London launch event of Windows Phone 7.
“I never thought the day would come that I would stand on a stage and praise Microsoft for doing something they could be proud of,” Fry said.
He raved about the sleek new designs and the interactive UI of the new devices and claimed that he was not being paid to say good things about Windows Phone 7 but had received a free phone.
Apart from praising Microsoft for Windows Phone 7, Fry also acknowledged the success Microsoft has had with Windows 7 OS and Xbox gaming console. However, he made it clear that he was not a Windows Vista fan.
“Windows 7 is better than Vista. Mind you, there is shit on my shoe that is better than Vista,” he said.
