HTC's newly launched Windows Phone 7-based smartphone Trophy 7 has appeared on Amazon's UK website, despite the company saying that the handset will only be sold by Vodafone in the UK.
It appears that the online retail giant managed to source unlocked Trophy 7 handsets and is selling the unlocked version of the smartphone for £429, The Inquirer informs.
Amazon has said that the unlocked version of the Trophy 7 is set to be released on 8 November.
Vodafone is offering the smartphone for free on a two year contract with subscriptions starting from £25 per month. The wireless carrier's claims of the having exclusive selling rights to the new Windows Phone 7 smartphone have been flushed down the drain by Amazon.
The HTC Trophy 7 smartphone was among the six Windows Phone 7 handsets unveiled by software giant Microsoft at an events in New York and London on Monday.
The other phones unveiled at the launch were manufactured by handset partners LG, Samsung and Dell.
