Virgin Media has released its video on-demand application for Nokia's Symbian^3 based N8 smartphone device.
The 'TV on the Go' service, which will be available for download from the Nokia Ovi Store, will not only give Virgin Media an entry into the TV on-demand market for mobile phones, but also push the sales of the smartphone.
The application will allow users to access content from 4oD, Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon.
However, the N8 smartphone will also come loaded with BBC's iPlayer application and a YouTube app, but the company is focusing more on the Virgin Media application.
Jonathan Kini, director of mobile at Virgin Media, said in a statement to TechRadar: “With more and more consumers enjoying entertainment on the go, the combination of the Virgin Media Player service and the Nokia N8 provide a compelling way for consumers to keep up with their favourite shows.”
