Chip maker AMD has released the new 6000-Series video cards, designed to take on Nvidia's GTX 460.
The new Radeon HD 6870 and the Radeon HD 6850 video cards, which had been code-named 'Barts', are available at the prices of $239 and $179 respectively.
According to AMD, the video cards have been designed along the lines of AMD's 5000 series video cards and are packed with some new capabilities and those which will challenge Nvidia's offerings.
However, the 6000 series video cards are 40nm in size but have been designed to use 25 percent less silicon.
Tech news site PC Mag reports that the Radeon HD 6870 and the Radeon HD 6850 video cards come with a enhanced anisotropic filtering algorithm designed to deal with noisy textures and an updated line-up of output ports.
The video cards come with two Mini DisplayPort 1.2 jacks, which will allow users to connect multiple monitors to the video cards and two DVI.
