Dell's new Windows Phone 7 smartphone, the Venue Pro, is set to be officially available in the UK as from the 8th of November when it goes on sale at Expansys for £499.99.
The phone, which like the Blackberry Torch, comes with a slide out keyboard in portrait mode, a 4.1-inch 800x480 capacitive screen. a Qualcomm 8250 Snapdragon 1Ghz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with zoom, touchfocus and geotagging plus 512MB RAM and 1GB internal memory.
Like the iPhone 4, the Venue Pro comes with Gorilla glass for, what Dell calls, unprecedented durability and scratch resistance.
As for all other Windows Phone 7 handset, this one comes with full Microsoft Office included as standard, the ability to play Xbox Live games and a raft of other applications.
PCWorld reports that Dell may release an Android version of the phone in a near future although a launch window hasn't been announced yet.
The phone will become widely available during the holiday season according to the computer maker with T-Mobile having already confirmed that it will offer the handset.
Dell already sells the Streak, a 5-inch tablet/smartphone, and the Aero, a diminutive, 3.5-inch Android-based handset.
