Tesco has added barcode scanning to its online shopping app for the iPhone.
The app, which was released last month, lets you order your weekly shopping wherever you are by sending orders directly from your Apple smartphone.
The addition of the barcode scanner makes the process even easier, because it means customers can simply scan in products using their handset to add it to their order.
Tesco claims the time-saving feature is a first for a UK supermarket. The company’s CEO, Laura Wade-Gery, said in a statement: “This is the perfect solution for iPhone lovers that are always forgetting to add items to their shopping list or haven’t the time to even write one.”
The new app incorporating barcode scanner is available for free from Apple’s UK iTunes store.
