Apple has yet again delayed the launch of the white iPhone 4 - this time until spring 2011.
When the original iPhone 4 was launched back in June, the iPod maker had promised that the white version would be rolled out by the end of July. In July, the company announced that manufacturers were facing problems in making the white version, thereby delaying the launch.
Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller told Reuters: “We're sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone again.” She refrained from providing a reason for the delay when asked.
Some experts believe that the company might be planning to skip the white iPhone 4 altogether and launch a white iPhone 5 next year. Verizon is expected to launch a CDMA iPhone 4 next year, which may yet come in white, but nothing is certain at this time.
However, the fact that the smartphone is available only in black has had no affect on the sales of the device. Apple sold 14.1 million iPhones in the last quarter, citing a 91 per cent increase in sales.
