Toktumi, the developers of Line2, one of the more popular VoIP services for the iPod Touch and the iPad, has revealed exclusively to ITProPortal that they are working on launching the service globally.
A post on their Twitter account said that rolling out the service outside the US "is in the works" but that they can't give a launch date at the moment.
Line2 has won a number of awards as well as gathering kudos from a number of online publications and one of its most interesting capabilities is that it adds a second number to your iPhone (hence the name).
The service, which works on all iOS compatible devices (iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad), allows users to make unlimited calls (or send or receive unlimited texts) to the US or Canada for now for $9.95 a month regardless of whether the user is on Wi-Fi, 3G or Cellular.
Other interesting feature include conferencing for up to 20 people, the ability to swap, transfer or hold a call as well as the ability to screen incoming calls.
International long distance rates start at 2c per min and texts at 10c a pop. More about Line2 here.
