Yahoo and Microsoft have completed their search transition in the US and Canada.
The two companies told WebProNews that the paid search transition to Microsoft's AdCenter platform has been completed for the US and Canada and added that the global transition will be completed in early 2012.
The companies said in a statement: “The transition comes after months of testing and collaboration between Yahoo! and Microsoft, with strict attention being paid to protecting the quality of experience for publishers and advertisers during the upcoming holiday season.”
Microsoft and Yahoo added that the advertisers now had a combined search audience of 163 million users in the US and 15 million users in Canada on both Bing and Yahoo platforms.
The transition is a part of Yahoo's deal with Microsoft's Bing to power its search engine around the world.
The companies said that the next step in the search alliance will be Yahoo's mobile search ads being transitioned to Microsoft's platform by the end of October.
