Taiwanese manufacturer Asus has pulled the wraps on the Lamborghini VX6 Ultra portable laptop, one that will be pitched in the ultra portable arena against Intel CULV-based devices.
The VX6 comes with an Atom D525 dual core processor coupled with an Nvidia Ion 2 graphics module (with 512MB VRAM and Optimus technology), 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB 3.0, HDMI and Bang and Olufsen audio.
All packed in a nice looking, testosterone-inspired chassis, which also houses a 12.1-inch screen capable of displaying 1366x768 pixels.
Asus also provides with 500GB online backup via WebStorage, Windows 7 Home Premium, Asus Express Gate, one year global collect and return plus a 1.3-megapixel webcam while the battery life (running on a six cell unit) is expected to last at least six hours.
As for the price, the VX6 will sell for £499 which is rather expensive for an Atom D525-based laptop, especially one that weighs 1.5Kg. Furthermore, the VX6 is based on the EEE 1215N which can be had for around £80 less.
