New MacBook Airs Hit By Screen Issues

Apple's new MacBook Air models may have serious display issues, a number of internet reports have suggested.

According to Cult of Mac, the new 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models suffer from kernel panics that cause vertical and horizontal lines to appear on the screen. In some instances, the screen even went blank and had to be fixed via a reboot.

Some users are claiming on the Apple Discussion Forums that the blank screen issue caused their laptops to crash.

One user, DanRyb, wrote on the forum: “Every so often while using it, the screen has a ton of weird colours in vertical lines (extends the whole display) and the entire laptop has frozen. I have to force it off with the power button and reboot it.”

No definitive reason has been found as to what causes the kernel panics, and many users are claiming that it could happen at any time. Apple is yet to release a statement on the matter.
