The British Monarchy and the Queen will have an official presence on the world's most popular social networking website, Facebook.
The page, which unsurprising be called The British Monarchy, will be launched tomorrow according to Buckingham Palace which underlined the fact that this is not a personal profile page - no "poking" or sending "friend request" to the Queen.
As expected, the page will list the latest Royal news, photographs, videos and speeches from the Royal Family including updates from the Queen and other members of the Royal Family, which users can "like" and subscribe to receive news feed.
Facebook users will also be able to post comments on the Royal page and send messages via the Page's wall.
The Cour Circular - a listing of official engagements of the previous day - will also be made available on Facebook.
Furthermore, the launch will be accompanied by a specially created application called "Near Me" which will allow users to find out where Royal events and visits nearest to them are,.
The British Monarchy joined Twitter in 2009 (and now has more than 70,000 followers) and has been on Youtube since 2007 (with more than 32,400 subscribers). The Royal family also has a Flickr account with historic and current photos spread over 31 sets.
