A new Opera arrives on Android

Popular web browsing software for mobile devices Opera has arrived on Android, in the form of 10.1 Mobile beta.

Opera Mobile beta now joins the Nokia S60 in version 10.1, where there is also a variant available for the older Microsoft Windows Mobile OS too.

Opera is well known for its faster page loading, as compared to other browsers with more fluid scrolling and a better zooming experience along with multi-touch being a standard feature.

Inside of the Android variation are the regular Opera abilities, such as quick access to website favourites - known as Speed Dial. There is also Opera Turbo, which offers up to 80-percent data compression for a better browsing experience over slower mobile networks.

Also on board is the ability to sync book marks across different platforms running the browser, geolocation support and an option to be set as the mobile phone's default browser.

In July this year, Opera announced their Mini 5.1 software was available for the Android platform where this new version surpasses that mobile application in performance alone.

Opera Mobile 10.1 in beta is available from the Android Market Place, or directly from m.opera.com/next in 18 different languages for various countries.
