The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) is planning to incorporate cyber warfare techniques into future military operations.
According to Politics.co.uk, the government had previously said that it was not prepared to develop new cyber warfare tactics.
However, Politics.co.uk sources have confirmed that the military will develop sophisticated cyber warfare tactics to strengthen Britain's chances of reacting to a possible cyber attack on its critical infrastructure.
Supporting the rumours of a possible offensive cyber warfare plan, UK Defence Minister Nick Harvey had said in a speech to leading think tanks at Chatham house that it was possible to integrate cyber and physical warfare tactics in the future.
“We still live in a physical world - so physical capabilities will never be replaced. But they should be supplemented by cyber capabilities which will give protection where necessary and greater flexibility where required,” he said.
