Just as Facebook's event this evening was underway, Microsoft said that Facebook's new messaging platform will integrate with Office Web Apps.
This according to Takeshi Numoto, Microsoft corporate vice president for Office, will allow Facebook users to view "Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents with just one click".
Unfortunately, we haven't been able to do so ourselves as Numoto's post didn't provide with more details.
We tried using our personal (test) Office Web Apps account and couldn't find any hint of Facebook integration. Furthermore, Facebook's official blog doesn't have anything that relates to the Microsoft Office announcement and a quick search on the blog shows that the last Microsoft story from Facebook dates from October 13th.
Still, I am not sure how the announcement by Numoto squares with Docs.com, the http://docs.com/ other online project from Microsoft, that integrates Word, Powerpoint and Excel and which also integrates with Facebook.
