Dell is expected to announce the release of its Inspiron Duo hybrid tablet-laptop next week, industry insiders have suggested.
Cnet reports that industry sources familiar with the launch plans expect the device to be annoucned as early 23 November.
Dell is still yet to make an official comment on the subject. The tablet laptop will allegedly feature a 10 inch screen and will boast a duel core Atom processor.
The Inspiron Duo differs from other tablet devices currently in the market, such as the iPad or Galaxy tab, as its screen can be flipped to convert it into a netbook.
Whilst this is not the first example of such a hybrid, previous examples have been criticised for their weight, high price-tag and the fact that they are designed predominantly as a laptop rather than as a tablet computer.
Cnet also claims that pre-order information will probably be released later in the week to coincide with a Microsoft store opening in Bellevue Washington.
