Apple has released the iOS 4.2.1 Gold Master version for developers, indicating that the public launch of the highly awaited software update will be soon.
The GM version is available for all compatible iOS devices, including the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, for developers to check and test their applications and give feedback to Apple before its launched to the public.
The latest GM version is the second released for iOS 4.2 OS but Apple has still not yet announced when and under what name the latest OS update will be launched. But, with Apple updating its iTunes music organisation platform to support devices running on iOS 4.2, it seems that the public launch of the OS will be made soon enough.
Mac Rumors is reporting that Apple has asked iOS developers not to resubmit their apps despite the new build being released to them.
The new iOS build is set to fix a number of critical bugs that were reported on the previous Gold Master version.
